Another Steampunked Nerf Gun

People love to Steampunk the shit out of Nerf guns. Especially the Maverick Nerf gun. Which looks like this.

I got bored one day and decided to scope out some of these online for some inspiration and came up with my own. Which looks like this now.

The cool thing about this line of Nerf guns, is that this scope detaches and fits on any of them so I Steampunked it and through it on there for a more over exaggerated look. The scope came off of the Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6.

Here are some links to the other Nerf guns that I based mine off of. Gotta give credit where it is due because these are way cooler than mine.

If any of you plan on making your own, I recommend spraying a coat or two of some black Krylon: Fusion spray paint that bonds to plastic. From there you can apply your acrylic model paints with a brush.

If you are looking for some brass gears and sprockets for the Steampunk look, you can find them in old brass clocks at antique stores near you.

Be warned, when you pull apart the clock there is a winding coil that is usually covered by brass plates. If you remove the wrong plate when you are not expecting it, it will fire out with insane speed and scare the shit out of you or hurt you or both. The gears should be fairly visible so you shouldn't have to open anything else in the clock.

Han Solo Blaster

Before...

After...

A little bit of paint, added weight, relocation of the speaker and a 9v battery instead of the 2 AAA batteries and we have ourselves a relatively, loud, cheap replica of Han's famous blaster pistol.

Blaster now has functioning, yet campy cross hair sight and large barrel you can see down.

And if you feel like getting real nerdy you can hand carve and paint your own custom Star Wars blaster plaque and put that blaster on a pedestal.

I'm not selling this shit George, so please don't sue me.

Sub Zero Costume

So this is the first costume I made when I really started getting into this stuff. The mask is made out of a child's Iron Man mask that I modified. The chest piece is made out of cardboard that I fabric glued the black and blue fabric to. The eyes are special contacs. Just fyi, you can't see out of them and they hurt like hell. Anyway, the under suit is black Under Armor. You can't see them but I actually bought some of those two toed ninja boots, which also hurl like hell. I don't know how real ninjas do it.
